I truly hope that everyone is doing well during this time. It has definitely been very different and a little bit of an adjustment getting used to things. I do want to say at this time, that the studio at this time will not be open for music lessons as this is one of the fastest way to transmit the virus. The health of my students, their families and myself are of utmost importance and I want to respect the science, evidence and public health guidelines. That being said, I am open to a few tutoring spots if students really need it.
My lessons are creative, engaging and tailored to the individual student. I do like to incorporate movement when possible and cross-curricular (i.e. history and drama, science and drama, music and science, math and music, Math, science and art, etc. ) Please reach out and I will get back to you promptly. Have a great day. -Rebecca Gracenote Studios

Phew! It has been a while since I lasted posted anything, but that just means I've been busy teaching fantastic students the ins and outs on how to be a great musician!
It has been fun getting settled back in Ontario this past year, although I do miss Quebec greatly. That province is fantastic for many things, but mainly it's the people and their love of arts and culture that I miss the most. Living there was one of the best experiences, and I am glad to have made such wonderful musical friends! I have never felt so in-love with a province and to see the support of arts and culture. Don't get me wrong, Ontario does fantastic initiatives as well, but it is always great to explore this beautiful country of ours and see how others do it! So, in this upcoming new season, go out and explore, see what other provinces have to offer and how it can inspire your creative juices!!! I recently read an article by acclaimed Broadway star from the famed show Miss Saigon, Lea Salonga. In this article she discusses the specialities, but also the limitations of her voice, and I would agree. Singing lessons are about discovering your voice and your own abilities. I do believe it is important to try different styles of singing (Classical, Belting, jazz, Musical Theatre, etc.) because I do think it's important to healthily stretch your voice, and also know where your voice succeeds and flourishes.
I do believe that any can singer can sing many styles/genres because it's all in the stylization and placement, but some voices lend themselves to certain styles more than others. Singing is all about knowing what YOUR voice can do! Check out the article HERE I hope all is well with you lovely readers! Thanks so much for taking the time to read Gracenote Studios blog. It is quite fun touching base, letting you know of some musical opportunities and adding to your day. Lots has been going on in la belle province. One of the things that I love about this province is the amount of music and culture that this province has..and ALOT is FREE!!!
Since we are getting into the Christmas season there are plenty of musical concerts happening. One in particular is Vibrant Voices/Voix Vivantes, that performed last weekend and has more concerts on December 4, 10 and 11, check out their webpage here for further details. In my home province of Ontario and in my hometown of Milton, there is a new place that opened up that has created a new musical opportunity for amateur and seasoned professionals! It is called Acoustic Blend Cafe. It originated in Hamilton a few years ago, a place I have performed at myself actually, and is a fantastic place to test out your performance skills and become comfortable with the stage. With such artistic talent in this community, it is nice to have a wonderful venue to express that talent. Goood Luck and keep on practicing, -Gracenote Studios Phew! What a crazy couple of months! As you know Gracenote Studios closed it's location in Ontario, but reopened in Quebec city. It was a major decision and quite difficult one to make, but a wonderful professional adventure!
I am looking forward to opening my business here and doing many more wonderful creative things. The community here is so welcoming and warm it has made the transition alot easier. I hope to pass along the love of music over here and learn many wonderful things. Thank you to everyone who has followed me over the years, it has been wonderful. Take care and happy practicing, Rebecca Gracenote Studios Hello! It's been a while since I last posted, but there has been lots in the works. I have been busy going to numerous vocal workshops, helping a client build her career as her publicist and agent and now co-designing and organizing a wonderful musical workshop with my colleague! The workshop is something I have wanted to do for a long time and am really glad it is finally coming to fruition (if you want to know more about it, just click here) I am so happy that Alyssa has taken time out of her busy teaching and performing schedule to come and do this workshop!!
We really can't wait to provide this wonderful musical opportunity for all of Halton and beyond! See you there! |
