Love singing Opera? Want to further your ability? Why not go to Summer Opera Camp? I found this great resource, here is a little expose about this wonderful organization. I have not personally attended this professional development camp, but I encourage you to inquire about this program and see if it is the right fit for you. "For over fifteen years, Opera NUOVA has offered participants in its programs the opportunity to work with the best professionals from the world of Canadian opera and beyond, amidst Edmonton’s active and vibrant summer arts season. Our one-week and six-week summer intensive programs aim to bridge the gap between academia and the demands of a professional career in the operatic and vocal music arts. There is also a focus on helping students to clarify their professional goals and realize that there are many different ways that they can use their artistry within the performing arts. These programs culminate with concert and main stage performance opportunities in our annual Vocal Arts Festival, featuring professional-level productions and events. Every summer, we offer opera training programs of the highest caliber in the following formats: Young Artist Programs for aspiring Singers and Collaborative Pianists, Internship Programs for aspiring Directors and Conductors, and Work Study Programs for aspiring Stage Managers and Stage Carpenters. We are also pleased to offer our Next Step High School Program for young singers who plan to continue their studies at the post secondary level."
